Fred Stump is currently the Fire Chief of the Long Valley Fire

Department. The Long Valley Fire Protection District is listed

as one of the entities that supports AB1506 (Jefferies Assembly

Bill) to repeal the illegal rural fire tax imposed by Governor

Brown. Also listed as supporters of the bill are: The California

Farm Bureau Federation, California Cattlemen’s Association,

San Diego Board of Supervisors, amongst others

Conspicuously missing is the Mono County Board of

Supervisors. This fire tax affects approximately 850,000 rural

property owners in the state, yet the current Mono County

Board of Supervisors, largely representing rural districts, is

nowhere to be found.
